Kate Venezio



Kate Venezio is a sports reporter and anchor for WUFT News at the University of Florida. As a multimedia journalist she is able to cover stories in an array of platforms. Kate has covered various sports such as volleyball, football, and softball to name a few. She has worked as the TV Beat Report for the Gator Volleyball team as well as the radio and web reporter for the softball team. She has covered events and written web articles for WRUF.com. Kate has also worked as the UAA photographer and she says she plans to continue to cover all things sports! Her enthusiasm on and off the courts is what makes her a true leader!


Justin Ahlum 

Justin Ahlum is a fourth-year student at the University of Florida majoring in telecommunications on the news track. His interests revolve around sports and has truly dedicated his time to get as much experience as he can. As a multimedia journalist he has worked for radio, and television. In 2016, he worked for WUCR 107.9 FM Union County Radio and covered Union County High School's softball team as well as the boy's basketball team and a multitude of Tigers volleyball games. Justin has also worked for UF's independent student newspaper called The Florida Independent Alligator as a sports beat writer and reporter. He has also worked for WUFT News as a sports anchor for First at Five on alternating Wednesdays. With his extensive experience, he sure will continue to grow in this industry! 


Veronika Vernachio


Veronika Vernachio is a student at the University of Florida and works as a reporter and anchor for WUFT-TV news where she pitches, interviews, writes and produces her own stories on deadline for WUFT's First-at-Five show. Not only does she have experience on camera, but she also knows how to work the production side as well. She has helped the production crew with running the audio board during the live production and  has technical directed as well. Veronika has interned at WPBF 25 news in West Palm Beach and WKMG News 6 in Orlando where she worked closely with reporters, producers, anchors and digital journalists to learn the structure of the newsroom. With extensive experience under her belt, she will take the industry by storm!
